SEEDofLIGHT
Our story
In March 2025, Nicola Ritter, Tommaso Fava, and Francesco Balestrero decided to take part in the Light for Makalu Valley project, an initiative aimed at building a hydroelectric power plant to bring electricity to eight villages in the Sankhuwasabha region of Nepal. These communities were still living without access to light or an electrical system.
After returning from this experience, they realised they wanted to give continuity to similar initiatives.
This is how SEED of LIGHT was born: a non-profit association created with the vision of carrying out sustainable development projects designed to respond to the needs of the vulnerable communities.
Our goal
SEED of LIGHT’s projects aim to foster sustainable and long-lasting development, with particular attention to social and environmental balance. At the heart of the vision lies a key pillar: working hand in hand with local communities. Each initiative begins by listening to the concrete needs of the people, with the goal of offering practical and enduring solutions.
Whenever possible, projects are implemented by actively involving the local residents. This helps to recognise their skills, create job opportunities, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the projects.
SEED of LIGHT's next project will once again focus on sustainable development in the field of hydroelectric power. Looking ahead, however, the association plans to broaden its scope with initiatives in various areas and sectors, such as architectural projects or other interventions tailored to the specific needs of local communities.
To support these activities, the association relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers, gathering goods and materials, to provide the resources needed to carry out its mission.
